Tours of Granada Theater Finishing Up Before Major Renovations Begin

BLUEFIELD — Anyone wanting to tour the Granada Theater on Commerce Street in Bluefield before major renovations begin should do so soon.

Skip Crane, treasurer of the Bluefield Preservation Society (BPS), said asbestos abatement will start next month and after June 8 no more tours will be available.

Crane said it's a good time to see the interior or to be able to have a "before and after" look at the historic theater, which showed its first movie in 1927.
